How to Use MediSave for Dental Services in Singapore

In essence, MediSave is a national medical savings scheme designed to help individuals in Singapore set aside a portion of their income to pay for personal (or that of an immediate family member) hospitalisation, day surgery and some outpatient expenses, as well as their very own healthcare in old age. In addition, MediSave can also be used to pay for specific dental services.

MediSave can be used to pay for the following day surgeries or dental surgical procedures:

  2. Bone graft
  3. Sinus lift
  4. Wisdom tooth surgeries
  5. Gum surgery
  6. Surgical removal of fractured teeth / retained roots

You also have the option to use your immediate family member’s MediSave if yours is insufficient. Your parents, child, and spouse are considered immediate family members. Use of MediSave however will be subject to approval and will depend on the balance available on the account. The MediSave account holder or the patient will be required to fill in and sign the MediSave Authorisation form.

How much can I use for dental services?

The surgery type will determine the amount that can be claimed from MediSave. This is because surgeries each have a specific code as well as a predetermined value that can be claimed. All the claims will be based on the fixed limit stated in the Table of Surgical Procedures (TOSP).

Generally, claims between $250 to $2, 850 can be made. The amount that can be claimed however is dependent on the surgical procedure’s complexity.

How do I claim MediSave for my dental procedure?
